Tyvek® RV™ and Tyvek® HL™ |
|
The unique nonwoven structure of Tyvek® protects against acid rain and salt spray by holding out water better than cotton, polyester, or cotton/polyester blend covers. But Tyvek® is breathable, so it allows trapped moisture to escape, helping to prevent rot and mildew. Tyvek® RV™ and Tyvek® HL™ are vapor permeable and highly water resistant and are excellent for covers and packaging applications that require the padding and protection offered by these uniqueTyvek® styles.
Material Concepts is a leading supplier of Tyvek® RV™ and Tyvek® HL™ to customers worldwide.
Tyvek® RV™
A bi-laminate nonwoven fabric, Tyvek® RV™ is engineered to provide high strength for the rigors of covering recreational vehicles while providing excellent protection from the elements. Tyvek® RV™ is highly water resistant and will not absorb and hold water when wet like fabrics made from natural fibers. Water can readily evaporate through Tyvek® RV™ to reduce the potential for mold and mildew growth within. This material can be draped, is washable, and can be fabricated into protective covers for multiple uses - including covers for ATV’s, Motorcycles, Scooters, BBQs, canoes, or kayaks.
Tyvek® RV™ has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is a lighter alternative to most fabrics. The barrier properties of Tyvek® RV™ block harmful UV rays and provide protection from a variety of chemicals and environmental contaminates. Tyvek® is easily sewn on any conventional sewing machine and stores compactly when not in use. Click Here for instructions on sewing Tyvek.
